Powerball is a multi-state lottery game operated by the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL). MUSL was founded in 1989, it launched the current 'power ball' game on april 22,1993. When the previous record Powerball jackpot has been surpassed, a new "Share the Winnings" feature limits jackpot growth to no more than $25 million per Powerball draw. Any additional grand prize funds are placed into a Match 5 BONUS Prize Pool that will be divided equally among any Match 5 winners of the drawing in which the jackpot is hit.
