1. September 11 -- United States
   The September 11, 2001 attacks were four attacks by terrorists that happened on the same day. By the official account, people in the group al-Qaeda took control of four airplanes. They crashed three of the airplanes into buildings in the United States on purpose. Nearly 3,000 people died.
2. September 11 -- New York
   (New York, September 5, 2002) — The September 11 attacks were a crime against humanity that flouted the fundamental values of international human rights and humanitarian law. Human Rights Watch once again expresses its deep sympathy for the victims of the September 11 attacks and their family members. Human Rights Watch has repeatedly expressed its outrage at such attacks on innocent civilians and believes those responsible should be held accountable and brought to justice before a court of law.

   For professional photographers, September 11 was the event of a lifetime. A contract photographer for the Reuters news agency, Tim Shaffer could not get through to the Washington office on the morning of September 11. At home with his family in Delaware, he started paging Reuters at 11:00 am. He finally reached them by internet Instant Messenger, asking if he should leave for New York. The answer was "No, go to Shanksville, Pennsylvania." Shaffer photographed the crash site and transmitted the digital images to Reuters using his cell phone.
4. September 11 -- World Trade Center
   September 11, 2001 was a bright, crisp morning in many regions of the United States, which was shattered when the nation was attacked by terrorists. Americans and friends all over the world remember where they were and what they were doing that fateful Tuesday morning, when the first attack commenced with a plane being flown into the World Trade Center in New York.

   About Sander Hicks's investigation of the death of a possible witness (?) of pre-9/11 activities by the hijackers. Note the tone of the nasty comments posted on this blog, trying to steer Sander Hicks away from the story, trying to be ultra-radical and dismissive.
6. September -- Months
   In September, Ford Edge sales were 11,632 and Lincoln MKX sales were 3,805. Both new crossovers achieved their highest retail sales month to date. The Edge and Lincoln MKX were introduced in December 2006 and already are among the best sellers in the mid-size and premium CUV segments.
7. September -- Period
   September 2007 sales for all certified GM brands, including GM Certified Used Vehicles, Cadillac Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles, Saturn Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles, Saab Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles, and HUMMER Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles, were 41,118 vehicles, down 10.5 percent from last September. Total year-to-date certified GM sales are 402,191 vehicles, up 2 percent from the same period last year.
8. September -- Miscellaneous
   IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Kia Motors America (KMA) finished out the summer with its third month in a row of record sales with September sales of 24,087 units, a 0.9-percent over the same period last year. Leading the way for the brand were Rio, Spectra and Sportage, three popular models in the Kia lineup. KMA remains on pace for another annual sales record with year-to-date sales of 232,043 units, a 4.5-percent increase over the same period last year.
9. 9 11 -- New York
   According to the New York Post today, 9/11 families and firefighters who are holding a press conference at Dartmouth College this afternoon are outraged with Rudy Giuliani's leadership in the aftermath of 9/11. FDNY Deputy Fire Chief Jim Riches said, "He's misleading voters and distorting the truth. He didn't prepare the first responders for a terrorist attack. The Office of Emergency Management was a joke that day. There was a lack of communication. People died unnecessarily." [New York Post, 11/19/07]
10. 9 11 -- United States
    According to The 9/11 Commission Report, Cheney arrived “shortly before 10:00, perhaps at 9:58” (The 9/11 Commission Report [henceforth 9/11CR], 40). This official time... contradicts almost all previous reports, some of which had him there before 9:20. This difference is important because, if the 9/11 Commission’s time is correct, Cheney was not in charge in the PEOC when the Pentagon was struck, or for most of the period during which United Flight 93 was approaching Washington. But if the reports that have him there by 9:20 are correct, he was in charge in the PEOC all that time.
