The Portable Pedestrian Tunnel, or PPT is intended as a form of extremely temporary shelter. The PPT is a flexible tube, constructed out of 25-foot blue poly weave tarp. The PPT is much like a human scale slinky, or more accurately, a expanding plastic duct tube. However, the PPT is primarily acts as a temporary traffic barrier for pedestrians crossing the street. The participating pedestrians will wait at a traffic light. When the light turns green, one of the pedestrians will bring one end of the PPT over to other side of the cross walk.
