A humorous portrait of American politics played out in San Francisco. With behind the scenes access, this film follows Mayor Willie Brown in his fight for re-election. The film opens up with the mayoral primaries. Brown is vying for another term as Mayor of San Francisco and, by the looks of things, will have no trouble. The story takes a remarkable turn when an openly gay city supervisor and stand-up comedian, Tom Ammiano, stages a historic write-in campaign to create a David and Goliath showdown.
