There are so many options and so much to do in Pokemon Stadium 2 that you couldn't rightly give gameplay a low score. But the fact of the matter is that straight turn-based fighting can get old after, say, the five hundredth battle. This game is, in a word, repetitive. In Stadium and Gym Leader modes all you do is battle through literally hundreds of opponents, and when you are done, you battle some more.

The next game in Nintendo's Pokemon series will be Pokemon Stadium 2, a sequel to the original. New in Stadium 2 is support for all 251 Pokemon. That means you can load Pokemon of Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/ or Silver and put them all into an arena to fight. Stadium 2 features a training academy where you can learn new information, take quizzes, battle fellow students, and earn exclusive TMs. And, just as in Gold or Silver, you can equip Pokemon with items to take into battle. Nintendo has ... added 12 new minigames, an amazing new Pokedex, and an all new Gym Leaders Castle.

Battle Revolution continues the line of console-based Pokemon battle titles that began with Pokemon Stadium and Stadium 2 on the N64, then continued onto the Cube with Colosseum and XD. The battle system hasn't changed much from those titles. You face off against another trainer in a battle of Pokemon supremacy, making use of a small library of Pokemon in a one-on-one or two-on-two battle. During battle, you make use of a variety of attack and defensive moves and can switch Pokemon in and out in order to best match up against your current foes.

The Pokemon wagon keeps rolling with Stadium 2, the follow-up (of sorts) to the smash success Stadium. Like Stadium before it, part two offers Pokemaniacs everywhere a chance to duel with the monsters they've been so carefully preening in the Game Boy Pokemon Gold and Silver games. Using the Transfer Pak to great effect, Stadium 2 allows users to upload Pokemon from their Game Boy cartridges and battle them in several scenarios. There are literally thousands of battles to be had in Stadium 2. Where Stadium had three Stadium Cups, Stadium 2 has four, and two of those are separated into four eight-trainer battles each. In addition, a Pokemon Academy has been added to the fun.

Depending on how on how you look at it, Pokemon Stadium 2 has infinite appeal, or none at all. Pokemon Stadium 2 is a game that was released for the Nintendo 64 as a sequel to Pokemon Stadium. It wasn't so much another Pokemon game as it was an expansion of the Game Boy games.
