Pokémon Snap only features seven levels. However, the staggered acquisition of items from Professor Oak ensures that the player must re-explore the courses to discover new material. Any of the first six levels has immense replay value if the gamer hopes to locate hidden Pokémon, alternate routes, or photographic opportunities that yield the best scores. Each of the first six levels (Beach, Tunnel, Volcano, River, Cave, Valley) contains the hidden likeness of a certain Pokémon in the environment (called a "Pokémon Sign"). When the player photographs all the signs and presents them to Professor Oak, the seventh level (Rainbow Cloud) is unlocked.

Pokémon Snap is a video game for the Nintendo 64. It was released in 1999, and was developed by HAL Laboratory. In the game, a young lad, usually call either "Todd" or "Snap", goe into your vehicle, and go across an on-rails track where you must take pictures of multiple different Pokémon species. Sadly you can only take sixty pictures pure course. After you have completed the course, you must show Professor Oak the photos, and he will rate the picture depending how well it was taken. There are a total of 63 Pokémon.

In Pokémon Snap, the famous Pokémon Researcher, Professor Oak, is researching Pokémon on Pokémon Island, and invites Todd Snap, a talented young photographer, to assist in his research. The only current inhabitants of Pokémon Island are wild Pokémon, making it the perfect place to study Pokémon in their natural habitat. Whereas a trainer may not be able to resist catching the wild Pokémon of the island, Todd's photography skills may equally aid in the Professor's research to complete his Pokémon Report.

It is a place where Pokémon live undisturbed by humans. Using a robot car named the Zero-One, Todd must explore the island and take photographs of the Pokémon. You will play as Todd in this game.
