Current plate holders are not required to surrender these plates. The original plate holder may use them as long as they are registered to a motor vehicle continuously. This includes transfers to another vehicle owned by the same person.

The suspect vehicle is a 1991 Toyota Camry, tan, California plates 3KVW243 with a severely damaged windshield. Police believe they may be en route to Boise, Idaho; Phoenix, Arizona; or Mexico. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. Orey at the Hayward Police Department at 510-293-5016 or dial 911.

Please be aware that custom plates and show plates are not for use on the public highway and by and by doing so you are in breach of the Road Traffic Act. Show plates are therefore sold only on the strict understanding that they will not be affixed to a road-going vehicle and it is entirely your responsibility as the purchaser to use them only in a legal fashion.

If your vehicle is currently registered in Nevada, bring the old plates to the DMV for surrender. If you wish to keep them, bring the rear plate only to surrender the decal.
