   Pick-up lines probably aren't the greatest way to meet your future life partner, but if you're falling flat in the romance department, the right line may produce surprising results. If you're running out of brilliant lines to use on your potential victims, uh mates, try inventing some of your own. But first, check out some of the tried and true lines for inspiration.
2. Pick Up Lines
   Pickup lines rarely work. Ask any female and she will tell you that pickup lines are a bad way to go about meeting women. But you do need to start somewhere, and for better or worse, anything you say will come across as a pickup line.

   The Miami Dolphins today re-signed safety Yeremiah Bell to a one-year contract. Bell, who turned 30 today, is entering his fifth NFL season after the Dolphins made him a sixth-round draft choice in 2003. via Miami Dolphins
5. John Abraham -- Atl Falcons
   Falcon's Defensive End John Abrahamthen sacked Carolina Panthers Quarterback Jake "The Snake" Delhomme. Abraham's second sack of the day brought up a fourth down at the Falcons 29. But, an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Hall gave the visitors a first down in the red zone. Two plays later the Panthers tied the game with a Delhomme to Jeff King touchdown pass.
6. Polynomial -- Equations
   The roots of polynomial equations cannot be found analytically beyond the special cases of the quadratic, cubic and quartic equation. The algorithm described in this section uses an iterative method to find the approximate locations of roots of higher order polynomials.
7. Wager -- Races
   This wager is the simplest and most played of the exotic wagers. Most racetracks have exactas in each race. With this type of wager, the player must pick the runners that finish first and second in the race in direct order. A player can box this wager and it is known as an exacta box. In this wager, the runners must finish first and second in any order.

   According to bassist George Bunnell, this most unusual name came about when the band was sitting around trying to think of a new name. They wanted to include the word Strawberry, which was inspired by the Beatle's tune, "Strawberry Fields Forever". The band was rehearsing in the guest house that belonged to the parents of keyboard player Mark Weitz. When everything was real quiet, after they thought of a bunch of names and they were all thrown out, everybody was kind of silently thinking. "The only thing you could hear was that alarm clock making some kind of whacky noise 'cause it was semi-broken. And they all looked at it at the same time really, and that's where it came about."
