Philadelphia has a competitive rock radio market, especially between WMMR and WYSP, which both specialize in playing modern and classic rock. The two stations enjoy a very intense rivalry with each station's listeners being faithfully loyal to their favorite station in most cases. PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless and the Philadelphia Eagles will collect no-longer-needed wireless phones to benefit victims of domestic violence at this Sunday's Eagles vs. Miami Dolphins game. Through Verizon Wireless' HopeLine(R) program, the phones will be refurbished and recycled or sold. Proceeds will be used to purchase wireless phones for use by domestic violence survivors in emergency or life-threatening situations. The HopeLine Program ... provides an environmentally sound method for recycling used cell phones. Each year, 130 million wireless phones are thrown away, creating 65,000 tons of trash.

The Philadelphia Eagles announced Thursday that DE Trent Cole has been named to the 2008 NFC Pro Bowl roster. Cole has been added in place of Seattle Seahawks DE Patrick Kearney who withdrew from the game due to a shoulder injury.
