   Shingo earned a special invitation to compete in the 2005 Masters. Finished first on the Japan Golf Tour money list and captured two titles at the Crowns and Woodone Open Hiroshima. Competed in the PGA Championship and played twice in the World Golf Championships. Won 2003 Japan PGA Championship. Finished T4 at the 2001 PGA Championship. In 2000, won three starts in four weeks to capture the circuit's money title.
3. Doug Ford -- Pga Championship
   Ford was born in West Haven, Connecticut. He turned professional in 1949 and won for the first time in 1952. His first major was the 1955 PGA Championship. The tournament was still match play at that time, and Ford defeated Cary Middlecoff (4&3) in the final. Ford was that season's PGA Player of the Year. In 1957, he holed out from a plugged lie in the bunker, on the final hole, to come from behind and beat Sam Snead by three strokes at The Masters.
4. Wayne Grady -- Pga Championship
   SYDNEY — Wayne Grady, chairman of the Australasian PGA Tour, says that golf does not need a drug code, disputing comments by fellow pro Craig Parry that one is needed to help curb drug use. On Thursday, Parry reignited the issue of drugs in the sport, saying that several top players have won important tournaments in recent years while using beta-blockers — pills that steady the nerves. Grady, who won the 1990 U.S. PGA championship, became Australasian PGA chairman two weeks ago when Jack Newton resigned after six years.
5. Henry Picard -- Pga Championship
   Selected in the Veteran's category, Henry Picard captured more than two dozen PGA TOUR victories, including the 1938 Masters Tournament and the1939 PGA Championship. He ... participated on two U.S. Ryder Cup teams.
6. Steve Elkington -- Pga Championship
   Elkington started 1995 off with a flourish by winning the Mercedes Championships. Then Elkington came from six strokes down on the final day to claim his first major at the 1995 PGA Championship. Reputed to have one of the most beautiful, fluid swings in golf, Elkington is a native of Australia and has struggled with medical ailments most stemming from sinus problems. He had seven top 10 finishes in his 20 events with two wins.
7. Larry Nelson -- Pga Championship
   Larry Nelson was born in Ft. Payne, Ala., on September 10, 1947. He did not begin playing golf until returning home from military service in Vietnam, but in 1970, he began working for Bert Seagraves, Head Golf Professional at the Pine Tree Country Club in Kennesaw, Ga. Less than four years later, he qualified for the PGA Tour. Mr. Nelson won a total of 10 times on the PGA Tour, including three major championships: the 1981 PGA Championship, the 1987 PGA Championship, and the 1983 U.S. Open. He ... won the 1980 and 1988 Atlanta Classic tournaments. Mr. Nelson was a member of three Ryder Cup Teams. He served as Player/Director of the PGA Policy Board for two separately elected teams.
8. Whistling Straits -- Pga Championship
   Lee says - and Swift concurs - that the biggest challenge Whistling Straits faces is getting the fairways looking like the ones golfers see in Britain's Open Championship. Fescues grow most energetically in sandy soils, a stark contrast to the clay soils of Wisconsin's farmland.
