The Renault Kangoo better watch its back, as Citroen and Peugeot are on the scene with their new diesel-powered MPV's: the Berlingo and Partner, respectively. Both get power courtesy of a 110 horsepower Hdi Diesel engine, which features a particulate filter that keeps the exhaust cleaner-than-nornal. Despite the changeable, occasionally appalling weather, Team Peugeot Total had every reason to be pleased with the way the 2007 Le Mans 24 Hours unfolded. It was barely a year ago at a special press conference here at the French circuit that it had unveiled a mock-up of the V12 diesel engine it had earmarked for the forthcoming Peugeot 908 HDi FAP. Twelve months later, the real thing powered the Le Mans prototype to pole position for the celebrated race after previously posting the fastest time in the official pre-event practice day and ... securing Le Mans Series successes at Monza and Valence.

Peugeot pepper mill grinding mechanisms have two different size grooves: Channeling and Grinding. Channeling grooves (the larger ones) are designed to line up the peppercorns and to crack them. The Grinding grooves (the smaller ones) do the actual fine grinding process.

Peugeot has added a third diesel engine option to their 807 minivan lineup in Europe. A new 170hp 2.2L unit is being added to the existing 120hp and 136hp 2.0L engines. The 2.2L is available with either an automatic or manual transmission both with 6 forward speeds. With a manual, the new engine is rated at an ample 273lb-ft of torque, a number that jumps to the 300lb-ft with the automatic. Peugeot hasn't published the mileage figures yet for the new engine but the existing 136hp diesel gets 33mpg (U.S.) on the EU combined cycle so the new engine will likely be in the high 20s at least. If Chrysler adds the new Mercedes 2.2L diesel to their U.S. minivan lineup, it would give them a real leg up on their competition in that segment if they could achieve numbers near 30mpg.

Starting Februray, Peugeot will add a Sports XS version for its entry level 107 range. The Peugeot 107 Sports XS will be targeted towards a younger crowd that like a more sporty vehicle. Buyers will have the option to choose from four color combinations including, Diamond White, Laser Red, Raven Black metallic, or Zircon Grey metallic. Other sporty looks to the car include 14 inch six spoke alloy wheels, front spoiler, twin racing strips around the body and twin sports exhaust system. The Peugeot 107 Sports XS will start at £8,345 in UK.
