Several folks have asked if Penny Edwards was the mother of actress Debra Winger, and the answer is "no". Penny was married to Ralph Winters, a studio casting exec, in the 1950s. They had two daughters, Rebecca and Deborah. Deborah Winters (not Winger) went on to do some movies and TV work.

Through the lens of Khmer newsmedia, she examines how nationalist debate extended the srey-krup-leakh’s burden of duty from the traditional spheres of family and clan to the modern strata of nation and state. Kate Frieson’s paper explores the legacy of this gendered nationalism in postcolonial Cambodia. Her analysis of how states and politicians tasked female citizens with defending the racial and cultural purity of the Khmer nation traverses the policy and rhetoric of diverse regimes. Judy Ledgerwood’s journey through cyberspace expands the frontiers of the panel from the national to the transnational. Her paper explores the constant referencing and reinvention of the srey-krup-leakh in the language and lives of Khmer youth today.

Penny Edwards and Ross Elliot are top-billed in the Republic programmer Woman in the Dark. Though Edwards plays the title character, most of the film is carried by Elliot as an Italian-American priest named Father Tony Morello. The good father is saddled with a no-good brother named Gino (Richard Benedict), who gets mixed up in a jewel heist. With the help of Father Tony and his other brother, a lawyer named Phil (Rick Vallin), Gino is cleared of all charges. But the jewel thieves exact a violent revenge upon Gino, prompting Phil to retaliate and Father Tony to try to maintain peace in the family. Throughout it all, Phil's Park Avenue girlfriend Anna Reichardt (Penny Edwards) stands on the sidelines, with wide eyes and trembling lips.
