Strands are 16" temporary strung. These beads have a regular size hole about .08mm diameter or smaller. Beads sizes 4mm or less require 24-gauge or thinner wire.

Pearls are a concentric concretion found in shallow cave pools. They can be spherical, as in these photos, or cylindrical, elliptical, and even cubical (as in the additional photos in the table below. They range in size from barely larger than a sand grain up to golf-ball sized. In the tropics, large beds of them may be found. Grutas de Canicas, a cave recently explored in Mexico, contained pearls esitmated in the millions.
Pearls are softer than other gemstones. Always wipe them with a soft cloth after wearing. Body oils, makeup, hair sprays and perfumes can spot and weaken their surfaces. Use warm, soapy water to clean pearls. Do not use cleaning solvents or ultrasonic cleaners. Store pearls in soft cloth or pouch.
