Swayze's latest starring role, was the film Christmas in Wonderland. The public reaction to the movie has been mostly negative, in particular the poorly animated CG elves and the stiff writing. In August of 2007 Swayze played an aging rock star in the upcoming film "Powder Blue", co-starring with his younger brother Don Swayze, in their first film together. Swayze is currently working on an A&E pilot/FBI Drama "The Beast," being filmed in Chicago. He will play FBI Agent Charles Barker.
Swayze is in a tough position right now in Hollywood. One of the good guys, he's trying to branch out and produce his own projects. He appeared in the indie film Donnie Darko, which played at Sundance 2000 and released theatrically last year. He's in Waking Up in Reno, a film that has sat on Miramax's shelf for a long time and may go straight to video with a weeklong theatre release. He's just started George and the Dragon, another indie financed film, in which he co-stars with Michael Clarke Duncanof The Green Mile.
