Patrick Stewart is an English actor, director, and producer best known for his role as Captain Jean Luc Picard of the TV series Star Trek: The Next Generation and most recently, Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men films. He was born July 13, 1940, in Mirfield, Yorkshire, in England. He is the youngest of three brothers. His father was a Regimental Sergeant Major in the British army while his mother worked at a local mill.

Patrick Stewart, who reprises the role of Capt. Jean-Luc Picard in the upcoming Star Trek: Nemesis movie, told TV Guide Online to expect some startling new aliens in the 10th Trek film. "Romulus has a sister planet called--of course, as you'd expect--Remus," Stewart told the site. "So you're going to meet the inhabitants of that planet, the Remans, who are quite unlike anything you've seen before."

He has played the classical roles of King John, Shylock, Henry IV, Cassius, Titus Andronicus, Oberon, Leontes, Enobarbus, Touchstone, and Launce and has starred in many contemporary works including productions by Edward Bond, Tom Stoppard, Howard Baker, and David Rudkin. The voice of Patrick Stewart, the British actor best known as Star Trek's Captain Jean-Luc Picard, will be used as part of the marketing campaign to promote Final Fantasy XII's PAL territories launch. The role-playing game, the latest in the popular Final Fantasy series, will launch in Europe and Australia on February 23, with the ad campaigns beginning on February 19. As part of the marketing push, there will ... be a midnight launch event in HMV on London's Oxford Street. The executive producer and director of the game, Akitoshi Kawazu and Hiroshi Minagawa, respectively, will both be present at the event to sign games and answer questions. There will also be free goodies for people wearing the best Final Fantasy costumes, and the first 100 people to buy the game will receive limited edition Moogles and soundtracks.
