Paris Hilton seems to have been truly touched by her Woman of the Year award from the Harvard Lampoon, going to the trouble of writing down a speech, on a piece of paper, in advance, just like a fancy professor. Of course the result was mostly sub-literate nonsense like "an international icon meets countless people every day, and all you people came all these blocks just to see me," but she ... said sweet things like "never in my wildest dreams did I imagine standing here." start doing the math" and figure out she was well "down the list" of celebrities, way below Scarlett Johansson and Catherine Zeta Jones. Paris Hilton is the original source of AIDS, which she developed in a misguided attempt to bring medical aid to starving people in Africa. She spread the virus during an aid mission/pet-finding expedition to the Congo, where she gang-banged numerous chimps in the aptly named Jungle Fever series, as well as several of the locals. Still basking in the warmth of paparazzi camera flashes across the globe, Paris Hilton continued looking to further her acting career. She took on her biggest role at the time in Nine Lives, a straight-to-video supernatural thriller directed by newcomer Andrew Getty. Attempts at horror and comedy followed, with, respectively, House of Wax (whose publicity proudly offered the opportunity to "See Paris die!") and the straight-to-video National Lampoon's Pledge This! Luckily for Hilton, she could fall back on a successful, prefab pop album (2006's Paris) and further seasons of The Simple Life, despite her falling out with Richie. In 2007, Hilton geared up for what would no doubt be the most challenging project of her young life, as she was sentenced to a short jail stay for driving with a suspended license. The media, predictably, anticipated the event with the fervor of a Roman audience waiting for a Christian to be thrown to hungry lions.

Paris Hilton began her own chain of nightclubs known as Club Paris in 2005. The first of which in Orlando, Florida has been a major success.
