You will visit marine life areas where there are turtles, giant clams, manta rays, barracudas and sharks, as well as 1,500 different types of fish and 400 varieties of coral. Water temperature remains a comfortable 27 degrees C (82 degrees F) year around.

Barracudas circle at Palau's Blue Corner DIVING in PALAU - When it comes to diving excitement, many well-traveled divers place Palau at the very top of their list. Spread over a large area, the dive sites are highly varied with a wide diversity of terrain and marine life. While many of the dive sites are in calm waters, some of Palau's best dives are known for their strong current and coincident population of large pelagic animals such as sharks and rays. If you will be doing your Palau diving from a land-based hotel, keep in mind that the daily boat rides to the dive sites may take one hour or more. But whether you choose a hotel, or a live-aboard dive boat, Palau's diving is a worthy reward for the time and money spent.

Springtime is full of festivals in Palau and can make it an interesting time to visit. February and March are Palau's non-rainy months, while June to August is the stormiest period. Typhoons tend to hit around this time when they come, which isn't often. Palau's water temperatures remain above 27°C (above 82°F) year-round, much to divers' delight.
There are still roughly 100 American service members listed as Missing In Action (MIA) in Palau since WWII. Since 1993, a small group of American volunteers called The BentProp Project have searched the waters and jungles of Palau to attempt to locate information that can lead to the identification and recovery of remains of these American MIAs.
