A native of Tennessee, Owen Wilson was a pioneer in pediatric medicine. Born on July 20, 1870, he entered Vanderbilt University in 1884, at the age of fourteen, and graduated with an engineering degree in 1889. He immediately enrolled in Vanderbilt University's Medical School, and graduated two years later. Wilson pursued additional training at New York Polyclinic Medical School and Hospital.

Sources close to Wilson, according to the mag's website, say he is being treated for "a very serious condition" and that the prognosis at first was bad but his condition has been upgraded.

Actor Owen Wilson was taken to hospital on Sunday. According to Extra, a hospital spokesman described Wilson in "good condition" on Monday afternoon. He issued a statement that read: "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."

It has been reported that Wilson was hospitalized after attempting suicide. The rag tabs have reported that a family member found Wilson at his home after he had cut his left wrist and had taken a number of pills. What kind of pills and how many has not been specified. Wilson will reportedly be admitted to a detox program. There has been no comment from Wilson’s reps, but a publicist for the hospital confirmed that Wilson was admitted to the hospital on Sunday and was in "good condition." The publicist did not offer any other information including what Wilson was being treated for or how long he would be in the hospital.
