The Ottawa Senators early struggle and fourth place regular season finish became a thing of the past as they charged through the playoffs to reach Stanley Cup Finals for the first time in franchise history. Dan Heatley led the Senators on offense as Wade Redden kept the defense strong down the stretch. Under the Canadian curse, they fell to the Anaheim Ducks under a count of four games to one. Not content with merely making the big game, the Ottawa Senators will be back next year on a mission to finish what they started. Join them on their journey to the top with Senators Tickets!

OTTAWA Ottawa Senators coach Bryan Murray wanted some emotion from his team as they attempted to halt a three-game slide before they head out west on a four-game road trip. The players responded. Two goals and an assist from captain Daniel Alfredsson helped the Senators snap that losing streak with a 5-4 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday afternoon at Scotiabank Place.

In 2004, the Senators, in a partnership with the City of Ottawa, built the Bell Sensplex, a four-pad ice facility, for community and team use. Opened in December 2004, it is used for team practices and minor hockey. The facility is the main arena for the annual Bell Capital Cup, open to 'atom' and 'pee-wee' age group teams, held between Christmas Day and New Year's. The tournament attracts over 500 teams annually and bills itself as "the world's largest hockey tournament."[54] The Sensplex is located near Scotiabank Place in the Kanata district of Ottawa.
