Blue Orchid is the third child pornography distribution network to be taken down by U.S. Customs and Moscow City Police, including the Internet operation run by a Russian, Dmitry KUZNETSOV, who distributed child pornography videos via e-mail solicitation. As a result of an undercover purchase by U.S. Customs in Oxnard, California, in November 1999 the Moscow City Police were able to identify KUZNETSOV and arrested him in February 2000. As part of a Russian amnesty program, KUZNETSOV was released from prison in September 2000.

Orchid flowers primitively had three stamens, but this situation is now limited to the genus Neuwiedia. Apostasia and the Cypripedioideae have two stamens, the central one being strile and reduced to a staminode. All of the other orchids, the clade called Monandria, retain only the central stamen, the others being reduced to staminodes (4). The filaments of the stamens are always adnate (fused) to the style to form cylindrical structure called the gynostemium or column (2). In the primitive Apostasioideae this fusion is only partial, in the Vanilloideae it is more deep, while in Orchidoideae and Epidendroideae it is total. The stigma (9) is very asymmetrical as all of its lobes are bent towards the centre of the flower and lay on the bottom of the column.

Orchid roots often creep over the edge of the pot before the body of the plant makes it to the edge of the pot. This is not necessarily an indication that you need to repot the plant. Repotting is only necessary when the body of the plant has grown over the pot edge or the media itself breaks down and will no longer allow the roots to dry between waterings. Under ideal growing conditions (and if you didn't overpot the plant to begin with), most commonly cultivated orchids outgrow their pot before the media breaks down.
