Oprah Winfrey started her television career when she moved to Chicago, Illinois to co-host AM Chicago back in 1984. After several months, the show was a hit and even beat Donahue in the daytime talk show ratings. Oprah renamed the show The Oprah Winfrey Show and the rest is history.
