The Oprah.com web site is a great resource to help you land a spot on the show. The web site includes a list of topics they're working on for upcoming shows, and tells you how to contact the show to tell your story. There are links for getting your story into O, Oprah's magazine, too.

Oprah certainly has the power, like no one else, to promote a vast array of books and other products. Right now retailers are probably racking up sales for Ugg boots and Samsung camcorders which were included on her list of 2007 “favorite things” that were revealed on a recent show. But will she be as successful at selling her favorite candidate? And how far will she go? Will her stumping for Obama be the subject of one of her shows? Will her praise of him once again appear in her magazine in the one issue left before the early primaries?

She is in the process of completing yet another film for Disney. Her Cable television station gains more and more viewers each day and her magazine inspires and encourages women of all ages. Oprah Winfrey is a legend in her own time and well on her way to being the first female and first African American Billionaire.

Remember that Oprah and her staff watch television, read newspapers and magazines, and listen to the radio. They are always on the lookout for great stories. Get your story in other media and they may find you. Doing lots of other interviews will ... be great practice for when you actually make it to the Oprah set. The Oprah Winfrey Show is based in Chicago, so you might want to make a special effort to get publicity in Chicago media.

At the Dawn of the new millennium, Oprah launched a cable network for women; "Oxygen" followed by "O," her magazine. Now a media giant, Oprah has unprecedented presence in the homes of her viewers thereby increasing the "coziness" so prevalent in her speaking style. Oprah's self-improvement successes have been the inspiration for much of her recent success. She urges viewers to better themselves through education, service to others and responsible consumerism.
