The Ontario Government has NO information on its home page, and web sites for Ontario Hydro's Hydro One group, incl. Hydro Networks and Ontario Power Generation, are all down or fail to resolve. Deeply unimpressive performances all around. The City of Toronto at least has a "Power Outage" link on its home page, though it should be more prominent.

On March 21, 2006, the Ontario Government announced the new standards price they will pay for energy produced from renewable sources in Ontario. Biomaxx Systems Inc. is particularly interested with the inclusion and recognition of electricity produced from biomass. Biomaxx Systems Inc. will now develop a new initiative to produce a commercially viable product offering for biomass-to-electricity production. In the past the challenge with renewable energy in Ontario has been the lack of compensation for a grid tie system linking to the power grid, and the lack of commitment from the Ontario Power Authority.

The Ontario Government continues to work with the federal and municipal governments to provide adequate housing for low-income families under the Affordable Housing Program. The program will provide 15,000 new affordable housing units and 5,000 housing allowances by 2011–12. To date, over7,400 housing units have been approved and the Province has committed to providing nearly 4,500new housing allowances. The Province ... supports the delivery of up to 6,600 affordable rent-geared-to-income rental allowances through the Strong Communities Rent Supplement program.

Now a group of Canadian universities has received a C$6 (€3.9/US$5.1) million fund from the Ontario government to invest in the development of a similar car. The project envisions a fusion between biotechnology and nanotechnology, resulting in high-tech, plant-based materials.
