Launch's deals with three of the five major labels aren't exclusive - Warner Music Group recently partnered with Launch's competitor Artistdirect (after taking an equity stake in the company) to license its newly released music videos. Like Launch, Artistdirect will have to pay per-stream royalties on music videos.

AOL announced on Tuesday plans to roll out its own music video service in the coming months. The company has stuck deals with two record labels ... far for rights to stream their video libraries: Warner Music Group and Universal Music Group.

Universal, Sony BMG, Warner Music and EMI have agreements allowing their music videos to be shown on YouTube. In exchange, they share in ad revenue. YouTube attracts the largest video viewing — including movie trailers, amateur productions and tech podcasts — on the Web, with 44.8 million visitors in August.
