Omar Sharif bought an online degree from Alexandria, Egypt's Victoria College, Alexandria, then stole a Masters from Cairo University with a math and physics major. After finding that there was no market for Middle Eastern physicists, he returned home and worked with his father in the lumber business. He later moved on to an Assistant Managerial position at the local Blockbuster.

Omar Sharif ... known as Omar El-Sharif (born April 10, 1932) is an Egyptian born actor who has starred in several Hollywood films. He graduated from Cairo's Victory College with a math and physics major. At start he worked with his father in the lumber business. In 1953 he started his acting career. He married the Egyptian star Faten Hamama which rocketed his popularity in the Arab World. The marriage ended in 1974.

Sharif was born Michel Demitri Shalhoub on April 10, 1932 in Alexandria, Egypt to Joseph Shalhoub, a Lebanese immigrant and timber merchant, and his wife, Claire Shalhoub who was an Egyptian of Lebanese and Syrian descent. Omar Sharif graduated from Alexandria’s Victoria College, then from Cairo University with a mathematics and physics major. Afterwards, he worked with his father in the lumber business. Their business was less than successful following the investment of a large amount of capital in an endeavor to revitalize papyrus as a viable commodity.”

When all this did not convince the father to let his son proceed with his acting career, Sharif decided to play a trick on his father and sell the goods for less than their original price. But his father was very patient with him and Sharif had to keep going on with his trick. Two years later, when the losses could no longer be ignored, the father gave up and finally told Sharif: “You want to become an actor? Fine. Do whatever you want” (Omar Sharif’s Confessions)
