built 178 days ago
Olympia Fields Country Club has been hosting major golf events for the past eighty-six years, including the 2003 U.S. Open. Through the years, some of the greatest names in golf have played its challenging courses, including Jack Nicklaus, Sam Snead, Chick Evans and Walter Hagan.
(Winston Salem, N.C.) – The 103rd U.S. Open, the oldest major golf championship played in the United States, will be held June 12 – 15 at Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields, Illinois. Many years ago the USGA began branding its championships to establish an identity specific to each event. A logo is the foundation of the brand and a cornerstone for merchandising. The 2003 U.S. Open logo was created by David Caudle, who is currently the manager of creative services for Stratapult in Winston Salem. The logo was revealed this time last year, but circulation has increased with the upcoming championship, including TV spots on ESPN and NBC.
