Anyone who actually considers the Olive Gardena "romantic" restaurant needs tp have their head examined. Are you kidding people? Break free from the corporate chain restuarant and venture outside of your little comfort zone. Ladies--if your man takes you to he Olive Garden as a romantic gesture, dump him immediately and find someone who actually uses the brain inside their head and possess a little originality. Their food is mediocre at best, service is below par and is a waste of money.
In 2003 the Olive Garden changed the fresh breadsticks to week old greasy pizza. This caused a riot outside Olive Garden headquarters in Madison, WI where 3,000 rioters showed up to express their distress. A riot took place for 4 days until the decision was made to offer half eaten breadsticks at an extra cost. Later, in 2004 Mr. T made the decision to stop selling the half eaten breadsticks and just sell the old pizza, Mr. T told all the angry customers to blow it out their ass.
The first Olive Garden opened in Orlando on December 13, 1982. Today, as Olive Garden celebrates its 20th anniversary and the achievement of an industry-leading 32 consecutive quarters of same-restaurant sales growth, this family of local restaurants is inspired by the food, wine, culture and warmth of Italy as it delights 2.8 million guests weekly. This recipe for success draws from strong Italian partnerships with companies throughout Italy in the development of new menus, innovative wine initiatives, new restaurant designs and employee training programs.
Olive Garden restaurant at Times Square, New York City The first Olive Garden concept store was opened in Orlando by General Mills in 1982. The chain took off, and by 1989 General Mills had opened over 145 stores, making it one of the fastest-growing units in the company's restaurant holdings. While the company did not meet critical success, it was popular, and its per-store sales soon grew to match those of sister company Red Lobster. The company eventually became the largest chain of Italian-themed full-service restaurants in the U.S.[1] Olive Garden is currently owned by Darden Restaurants, Inc., which was spun off from General Mills in 1995.
