Kenneth L. Matheny was born in Akron, Ohio and has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Akron and an MBA from Bowling Green State University, Ohio. He joined Marathon in 1977 as an advanced tax analyst and held a series of increasingly more responsible positions in Marathon's tax organization. In 1988 he was named director of Corporate Finance and became director, Human Resources in 1989. He was appointed vice president, Human Resources and Environment for Marathon in 1994. He was named vice president and comptroller for USX at the corporation's Pittsburgh headquarters in 1997 and was appointed vice president--Investor Relations for USX in 2000.
[Florida State] Education Realty Trust has entered into an agreement to sell "The Village on Tharpe," a 1,554 bed community near the Florida State University campus in Tallahassee, Florida, for $50 million (about $32,000 per bed). Larry T. Brockway, 42, is a native of Ashtabula, Ohio and holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He began his career in 1982 as an accountant with Marathon Oil Company in Findlay, Ohio and held various accounting posts there and in Houston, Texas. He was transferred to USX Corporation's Pittsburgh headquarters in 1997 when he was appointed manager--structured finance. He was named director-- corporate finance in 2000 and was appointed director--strategic planning later that year.
Ohio State's main urban campus is located in Columbus. Its 1,755 acres (7 km²) are approximately 2.5 miles north of the city's downtown.
