Almost 200 cell phones were collected for the Safer Futures Shelter thanks to a drive sponsored by the Communication Graduate Student Association of Kent State University. The involvement of offices on Kent campus and off-campus locations helped to make the drive a success, according to Carol Savery, CGSA officer and doctoral student in the School of Communication Studies.

In two separate, unsolved murder cases, police have called on Ohio State's Forensic Archaeology Cold Case Team to help search for and identify human remains. The Department of Anthropology formed the team two years ago to provide assistance to law enforcement and other agencies in the recovery and analysis of human remains. FACCT is under the direction of Professor Sam Stout and comprises both undergraduate and graduate students interested in forensic anthropology who volunteer their time. Read more >
CINCINNATI, Oct. 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Metro High School and KnowledgeWorks Foundation announced today that the school has joined a network of Early College High Schools (ECHS) in two dozen states including Ohio. Early College High Schools include a rigorous curriculum that is designed to help would-be first generation college students earn a high school diploma and 60 hours of college credit while still in high school.
