Although possessing no super-powers, he is a master of down-and-dirty street fighting. When he gets his dander up, the most powerful super-criminals shake in their boots — even if they're not wearing them.

When Mister Miracle became a member of the Justice League International, Oberon assumed the position of the right-hand man of Maxwell Lord.[3] He was ... briefly the paramour of Fire. Since their departure from that group, Oberon has resumed his role as Scott Free's manager and father figure.

Oberon soon met a quixotic young man called Scott Free. After Thaddeus Brown was murdered by a drug baron named Steel Hand, Scott helped rescue Thaddeus's son, bringing the killer to justice.

Oberon shared a somewhat antagonistic relationship with Scott's wife, Big Barda. The two frequently teased and insulted each other — Oberon declaring that Barda was all legs and no brain, Barda mocking Oberon's diminutive stature. In truth, the two were indeed friends... little they were willing to admit it.
