- Oj Simpson -- O.J
JAMES WOODS told CRAIG FERGUSON, host of The Late Late Show, that “Nicole Brown Simpson wanted to have an affair with him behind O.J. SIMPSON’s back and that the couple once seemed to invite him to be part of a threesome.” - Simpson
Simpson had been a serious contender for college football's highest honor--the Heisman Trophy--in his first year at USC. In fact, he finished second in the voting to University of California-Los Angeles quarterback Gary Beban. In 1968, he won the trophy. Belsky wrote that Simpson "was generally acclaimed . . . [as] the finest and most explosive running back to come out of college football in a decade. Some thought he might be the most prized collegian in football history." Belsky ... noted the irony that, "Under the rules of the draft, the NFL team that finishes the season with the worst record chooses first in the collegiate draft. - Simpson -- Families
Besides his Hall of Fame career, Simpson is infamous for having been tried for the murder of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman in 1994. He was acquitted in criminal court in 1995 after a lengthy, highly publicized trial (see O. J. Simpson murder case). In 1997, Simpson was found liable for their deaths in civil court, but to date has paid little of the $33.5 million judgment.[1] He gained further notoriety in late 2006 when he wrote a book titled If I Did It, withdrawn by the publisher just before its release, which purports to be a first-person fictional account of the murder had he actually committed it (the book would later be released by the Goldman family and the title of the book was expanded to If I Did It: Confessions of the Killer). In September 2007 Simpson faced more legal troubles, as he was arrested[2] and subsequently charged with numerous felonies including but not limited to robbery with a deadly weapon, burglary with a firearm, assault with a deadly weapon, first degree kidnapping with use of a deadly weapon (carries possible life sentence), coercion with use of a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit kidnapping and conspiracy to commit a crime.[3] - Oj Simpson -- Ronald Goldman
Hometown hero OJ Simpson rose from the streets of Potrero Hill to international super stardom as the Hiesman Trophy winning running back from USC who went on to break several records in the NFL. The Galileo High School graduate who was honored with a mural at the Potrero Hill Recreation Center later became a Frankenstein celebrity after his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson was brutally murdered in June of 1994 along with waiter Ron Goldman. Simpson was acquitted of the murders in the sensational "Trial of the Century" but was held responsible for the deaths by a $30 million jury award at a subsequent trial in civil court. Simpson has since been dishonored by the Potrero mural which was defaced to express antipathy against Simpson in his old neighborhood. - Simpson -- New York
Simpson's publicity suffered when a performance on the October 23–24 edition of Saturday Night Live went awry. According to Simpson's publicists, her father and manager decided to use a vocal guide track because of problems she was having with her voice, beginning earlier in the day, that were caused by acid reflux. Although her first performance of the night—"Pieces of Me"—was successful, her second performance, which was supposed to be of "Autobiography" (at the time planned as her third single), went disastrously wrong: "Pieces of Me" mistakenly began playing, and Simpson's recorded vocals were heard when her microphone was not near her mouth. She subsequently walked off the stage and then apologized for the error during the show's closing.[40] Some viewers accused Simpson of lip synching, and the incident received wide-spread coverage in the news. Simpson followed the incident with a performance of "Autobiography" at the Radio Music Awards on October 25.[41] - Oj Simpson -- Las Vegas
For the second time in 12 years, former NFL star OJ Simpson faces a lifetime in jail after being charged with armed robbery, kidnapping and six other offences. Police allege Simpson led an armed hold-up of sports memorabilia collectors at a Las Vegas hotel. Simpson has insisted he was merely retrieving items that had been stolen from him. Attorney Yale Galanter confirmed that Simpson was released on $125,000 bail. - Oj Simpson -- Kidnapping
As the slow speed Bronco chase was unfolding the police found a letter that Simpson had left behind. It became known as the "suicide letter" because it read like a good-bye letter with Simpson thanking his friends for their support. Simpson ... stated in the letter "As I leave you'll be in my thoughts." The fact that he was suicidal while driving around in Al Cowling's Bronco also made the letter look like a suicide note. The letter started out saying, - Robert Blake -- Heads
Robert Blake collapsed a little and she could feel his heavy head resting in the corner of her shoulder and his breath on her chest. A harsh rasp escaped him, then a shiver, as though some sharp object had entered a tender part of his body. His voice was ragged. - Michael Williams -- Innocence Project
As Head of the Transatlantic Programme, Dr. Williams is responsible for leading research projects, private workshops, roundtable discussions and arranging public conferences on all aspects of the transatlantic defence and security relationship. He is the project director of ‘The RUSI Project on Civil-Military Relations’. - Brian Mulroney -- New Brunswick
Mulroney's professional reputation was further enhanced when he ended a strike that was considered impossible to resolve at the Montreal newspaper La Presse. In doing so, Mulroney became friends with the paper's owner, Canadian business mogul Paul Desmarais. After his initial difficulties, Mulroney's reputation in his firm steadily increased, and he was made a partner in 1971 (Mulroney: The Politics of Ambition, by John Sawatsky, 1991).
