One of the most controversial and least studied aspects of Nudism is that of Children. From a textile point of view, the existence of nude children and adults together outside the family unit (and even within it..) breaks alot of traditional social Youngs. Tolerating consenting adults together nude is something textile society is capable of brushing aside with the comment "what they do on their own has got nothing to do with me". But introduce Children into this picture, and many textiles suddenly develop hostile attitudes, and begin to demand that they be able to enforce controls in order to supposedly "protect the innocent". Issues such as Pedophilia and Corruption are forever rearing their ugly heads because in textile society the "clothes" represent a supposed barrier to such thoughts and activities. When faced with a situation where those barriers are removed it's no wonder many textiles can no longer see the difference between social family nudist venue and a pedophilia ring. But of course there is a difference. It's just that it's extremely difficult to explain it to someone who is not a nudist.

Image of welcome.jpg Nudism isn't any more and quite possibly less sexual than life in general. Nudism is about being nude when practical, not about sex. It's about body acceptance, physicality, spirituality and asthetics. Nudism in general can be quite sensual--just think about the sensations of bathing your body in the air, sun and water--but is not in itself sexual.

Nudism is not equivalent to exhibitionism. It is people who enjoy being nude and who are not primarily interested in seeing others naked (strictly, voyeurism) or being seen naked by others. That being said, all kinds of people are attracted to the movement, for all kinds of reasons. Many naturists are convinced that increased exposure to the natural environment, made easier through nudity, can result in numerous health benefits. Sunlight has been shown to be beneficial in some skin conditions, and is required by the body to make vitamin D. However, with the increased awareness of skin cancer, wearing of sunblock/sun protection lotions is now part of the nudist culture and is one of their frequently discussed topics. Whereas nudist parents do not require their children to put on clothes before going outside at a nudist club or beach, most do require them to put on sunscreen lotion.

Bír'd'in Nudism... called naturism, is about the natural feeling and health benefits of being nude. It has nothing to do with sex. Most true nudists have a good sense of family values, and in fact there are nudist families with small children. To put it another way, there are times when clothing is required. There are also times when nudity is required. For the times in between, it is a personal choice.

Naturism Nudism, or [N]aturism, is the practice of going nude or unclothed in social and usually mixed gender groups, specifically in cultures where this is not the norm. It sometimes occurs furtively in secluded places in countries where appearing naked in public is illegal, but enjoys widespread acceptance in other areas of the world. Those who practice nudism are called nudists or naturists. While some believe that being naked with other people is necessarily always sexual, or that nudism is morally wrong or pornographic, naturists reject these views, arguing that nudism is a natural state.
