Fifty years after Brennan's appointment, one could look back at Notre Dame's hiring policies and notice a curious pattern: the recurrent hiring of inexperienced coaches in the wake of legends. Brennan following Leahy; Gerry Faust following the hall-of-fame tandem of Parseghian and Devine; and, finally, Davie following Lou Holtz. Tim is on the verge of getting into NASCAR, not sure what level but he wants in. Tim bought a Porsche in his senior year at Notre Dame which raised Colin's eyebrow. How will the Irish do in 2008? Tim thinks they'll bounce back by selling the education.
Notre Dame Quarterback Brady Quinn, under pressure all day by a relentless Bruins defense, completed three passes in a row in the closing moments of the 4th quarter. The last pass was a 45-yard TD pass to Jeff Samardzija to clinch a 20-17 comeback victory for the Irish.
Parseghian was one of almost 150 Irish alums on hand for the charity golf event that featured several former Notre Dame athletes. The event, in its sixth year, raises money for the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation as well as scholarships for local students to attend Notre Dame.

Regardless of whether these guys made it in the NFL or not, their names are sprinkled liberally throughout the pages of the Notre Dame record book. So it might come as something of a surprise that the Irish quarterback whose name appears more frequently in all the individual passing categories than any other is not Montana or Theismann, but current starter Brady Quinn.
George Sefcik played halfback for Notre Dame in the late 1950s and early ’60s and ... admitted it was tough to watch the Irish last year. But Sefcik has faith in the program and, most of all, faith in the coach.
