Notre Dame Stadium is home for the Fighting Irish, one of the most prestigious college football teams in history. Located in South Bend, IN, the stadium first opened for games in 1930 with a seating capacity of 54,000. In 1997 the university added 21,000 new seats to the stadium, bringing the seating capacity to the present 80,795. Of these more than 80,000 seats, only a small number are available for purchase.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Ferris State Bulldogs traded two goals each on the night as the teams battled to a 2-2 overtime tie on Saturday night at a sold-out Joyce Center. The tie gave the Bulldogs three of four points on the weekend. Notre Dame got goals from defenseman Ian Cole (ppg) and center Christian Hanson while Ferris State had a short-handed goal off the stick of Zach Redmond and a power-play goal from Blair Riley. The Irish out shot the Bulldogs, 35-29, in the game.

Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis, who built his coaching reputation as a play-caller while helping the New England Patriots win three Super Bowls, won't be calling plays for the Fighting Irish next season. Notre Dame's five-game winning streak came to an end and the Fighting Irish fell out of second place in the Big East with its 84-78 loss at Connecticut on Wednesday night. However, Notre Dame coach Mike Brey was not down after the road loss. In fact, he was proud of the way his No. 20 Fighting Irish played against the No. 17 Huskies despite falling to 18-5 overall and 8-3 in the conference. "I love how our team played," Brey said.
