Notre Dame de Namur announced it has been named to the top tier among western region master's universities in the annual U. S. News & World report rankings. According to the rankings released Friday by the magazine, NDNU ranked 43rd among all master's universities in the west region.

Notre-Dame de Paris indeed dates back to the 13th century. It is one of the masterpieces of Gothic art in Western Europe. Its stainglasses and the huge interior are really stunning artistic experiences of mystical dimension and a testimony of the fervor of Christian faith in France through the Middle Ages.

Air Force outgained Notre Dame 285 yards to 58 on the ground in a tougher win than the final score might indicate. After getting down early on a Ryan Harrison field goal and a 19-yard John Robold fumble recovery for a score, the Irish tied it up with a 28-yard Brandon Walker field goal and a two-yard John Carlson catch. And then the Falcons took over with a 21-point run on two Shaun Carney touchdown passes and an eight-yard Spencer Armstrong run. Jimmy Clausen threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter, highlighted by a 21-yard play to David Grimes, but the Falcons were able to put it away with a one-yard Carney touchdown run with less than two minutes to play. Trevor Laws came up with 17 tackles for the Irish.

As Notre Dame's football players cleaned out their lockers in late November, Irish basketball hit the courts in the middle of their non-conference schedule. As usual, the Irish finished with a winning mark prior to entering Big East play, but fans of the gold and blue were hesitant to celebrate, having recently experienced disappointing conference play.

Notre Dame dominated other facets of the game as well. Inspired from a pre-game talk by golfer Tiger Woods, the ND rushing attack shot an even par, winding up with 0 yards rushing.
