- Hilary Duff -- So Yesterday

Once she is downloaded to the game, Hilary will be a fully playable character. You'll be able to customize and control Hilary as you do other Sims, from changing her clothes, makeup and hairstyle to building and decorating her home-even defining her dreams and establishing her social life, by throwing parties, making friends, flirting and creating a family. - Gilgamesh -- So Gilgamesh
[K]nown as The Forgotten One, Gilgamesh is a first-generation Eternal. In "ancient times" he wandered the world, helping normal humans and fighting against tyrants and "dangerous beasts." This led to people confusing him with various other mythological beings, and in some cases his feats were the source of various legends. In ancient Greece, circa 2800 B.C.E., he cleaned out the Augean Stables and was confused with Hercules. In Sumeria his feats gave rise to the legend of Gilgamesh. - The Cooler -- Alec Baldwin
Scarcely anyone even tries to make heartfelt love stories featuring life's losers anymore, which makes the achievement of "The Cooler" all the more appealing. Quite a cool movie about a couple of people at the bottom of the Vegas food chain, Wayne Kramer's sexy and often humorous feature directorial debut surrounds its sweet center with the energy, flash and risk of the gambling capital. Sterling performances, by William H. Macy and Maria Bello as the long-shot lovers and Alec Baldwin as a temperamental casino operator, could give Lions Gate just the kiss of luck it needs to slide this highly accessible film beyond profitable mid-sized specialized release into the wider marketplace. - The Last Samurai -- Edward Zwick
Much like Master and Commander before it, The Last Samurai is a courageous endeavor that ultimately doesn't have the gumption to trust in its own genius. Maybe Zwick and Company thought they were being too subtle, and wanted to ensure all of their sound and fury signified something at the end of the day. Or, maybe The Powers That Be doubted their audience's ability to understand the not-so-complicated messages (involving honor, and "old ways" -vs- "new") with which they were dabbling. - Schubert -- Songs
Schubert’s songs are among the greatest ever written. They are all settings of German poems. German art songs are called Lieder (pronounced “leader”), and Schubert made his Lieder very special by making the piano accompaniments describe the action of the songs in many different ways. If you try to sing them in a translation it is difficult to make it sound good. It is best to hear them in German and to have a translation so that you understand what is being sung. Some of the last songs he wrote make up a cycle called “Die Winterreise” (“The Winter Journey”). - Videl
Gohan and Videl were lying on the floor of the craft, with the old couple tending to their wounds. Gohan appeared to be unconscious, but Videl opened her eyes and smiled up at Bulma. Both of them were even more filthy and bedraggled than Piccolo, and bleeding as well. - Kyrgyzstan -- Askar Akayev
Protests over the ballot began in the poorer, overwhelmingly Muslim south of Kyrgyzstan and culminated in the takeover of two major cities. Opposition leaders quickly established order, setting up joint patrols with police and promising to send busloads of protesters through the mountains and to Bishkek. By Wednesday afternoon, the capital of 800,000 was coming to life with a small demonstration organized by the student group Kel Kel-an organization with ties to Ukraine's Pora youth movement, the engine of the Orange Revolution. Some 26 students were arrested and dragged into waiting buses as at least 1,000 people looked on. "The government just doesn't have the power to control the people anymore, so they use these methods," said a disapproving Bolot Ismailov, an unemployed man on the edge of the crowd wearing a traditional high-peaked felt Kyrgyz hat. That night, much of Bishkek was leafleted with an appeal to show up the next day for an anti-Akayev march on the White House. - Xander Harris -- Potential Slayers
Xander was determined not to make a mention of the Faithfist-sized dent that his shower wall now sported. She was a Slayer, and he now knew she was far more complicated than he'd ever known. He'd seen other Slayers lash out in far worse ways with far less on their minds. Part of him was even a little proud that all she'd done was give his bathroom wall a new handhold. Besides, he could fix it up pretty easily next time he got a chance. - Dave Barry -- Books
Dave Barry is one of the best humor writers in the world today. This book is his entry into the latest round of political/humor books that folks like Al Franken and Roger Moore have been putting out of late. Barry is more of a political moderate, where as Franken and Moore are liberals who in turn as responding to Right-Wingers like Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and others. - Alice (Sitcom) -- Alice Hyatt
Alice is an American television situation comedy Starring Linda Lavin as Alice Hyatt a widowed mother with a teenage son, Tommy (Philip McKeon). After her husband died in an accident, Alice decided to move from New Jersey to Hollywood California and fulfill her dream of becomming a singer. But Alice's car breaks down in Arizona on the way to Hollywood, forcing for to take a job at Mel's Diner where she worked alongside Mel Sharples (Vic Tayback), the grouchy owner, and fellow waitresses Flo (Polly Holliday) and Vera (Beth Howland).
