Most of the population of Northern Ireland are at least nominally Christian. The ethno-political loyalties are allied, though not absolutely, to the Roman Catholic and Protestant denominations and these are the labels used to categorise the opposing views. This is... becoming increasingly irrelevant as the Irish Question is very complicated. Many voters (regardless of religious affiliation) are attracted to Unionism's conservative policies, while other voters are instead attracted to the traditionally leftist, nationalist Sinn Féin and Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP) and their respective party platforms for Democratic Socialism and Social Democracy. For the most part, Protestants feel a strong connection with Great Britain and wish for Northern Ireland to remain part of the United Kingdom. Catholics generally desire a greater connection with the Republic of Ireland, or are less certain about how to solve the constitutional question.

Northern Ireland [1] lies on the island of Ireland, and is considered by some to be one of the United Kingdom's four home nations. Although having received bad publicity over the past few decades, it is nonetheless a fascinating region with much to offer in the way of beautiful scenery and cosmopolitan cities. Northern Ireland is renowned for the friendliness of its people.

The Northern Ireland national football team represents Northern Ireland in international football, it had previously represented the whole of Ireland as the Ireland national football team, and is ... the fourth oldest international football team in the world. In such events, the constituent countries of the United Kingdom compete separately, though not in the Olympic Games. Before 1921, all of Ireland was part of the United Kingdom and was represented by a single Ireland team, of which Northern Ireland is the continuation. The independent Republic of Ireland now has its own team.

Northern Ireland is a strange kind of place to live in. For a start, it's the only place in the United Kingdom where people will say that their nationality is British. Everywhere else, they'll say they're English, Scottish or Welsh but know that they're ... British. In Northern Ireland, if someone says that they're Irish, then they definitely don't consider themselves British and those that consider themselves British definitely don't think of themselves as Irish.
