North Korea: North Koreans
built 654 days ago
North Korea accused the US of provocation by massively increasing aerial espionage activities over North-Korean territory during high-level inter-Korean talks in Pyongyang in late April 2006. According to this Daily Times article, “US spy planes had flown an average of more than five missions a day over North Korean airspace during April, totalling 160 sorties for the month.” It is doubtful that such an escalation will help resolve the problems on the Korean peninsula.

Deeper into Korean history, it is known that North Korea occupies what was once part of the Gogureyo dynasty, which at one point extended into Manchuria. It has ... been discovered recently that what is now North Korean territory was the very cradle of mankind itself. Why Korean influence in the region has so declined in modern times is beyond me. I blame the television, particularly the propaganda television from the Seoul puppets (and those evil TV dramas, the worst of which being that Winter Sonata - which incidentally my wife is completely addicted to). This program illegally breaches the peace agreement by transmitting signals which can override our signal-jammers, allowing our populace to be brainwashed by such propaganda as "a heatbreaking love between a man and a woman of different worlds, torn apart by parents, society, and leukemia".

As of December 2007, 65 South Korean firms were manufacturing goods in the KIC, employing nearly 20,000 North Korean workers. Most of the goods are sold in South Korea; a small quantity, about 20% of the KIC products, is being exported to foreign markets. Ground was broken on the complex in June 2003, and the first products were shipped from the KIC in December 2004. Plans envision 250 firms employing 350,000 workers by 2012.

Gaeseong is ... growing, thereby increasing South Korea's opportunity to invest in the North. The Model Complex has been completed and 13 of the initial 15 businesses have completed the construction of their facilities. Eleven are already selling wares made by North Korean hands. The North expects more investment from the South and other western countries.

The North Korean invaders swiftly seized Seoul and surrounded the allied forces in the peninsula's southeast corner near Pusan. In a desperate bid to reverse the military situation, UN Commander Gen. Douglas MacArthur ordered an amphibious landing at Inchon on Sept. 15 and routed the North Korean army. MacArthur's forces pushed north across the 38th parallel, approaching the Yalu River.
