Kurt Wulff (McDep Associates) submits: Hold-rated new Norsk Hydro (NHY) trades near roughly estimated net present value [NPV] of $13 a share, revised up from $11 after disclosure of second quarter results on July 24. Because aluminum will not be an independent company until October 1 when NHY oil operations become part of buy-rated Statoil (STO), there is no history of unlevered cash flow (Ebitda) for a valuation estimate.

Norsk Hydro, Nuon and Norsk Miljøkraft have agreed to build a wind farm at Havøygavlen in the municipality of Måsøy in the county of Finnmark, Norway. For this purpose a new company has been established: Arctic Wind A.S. Nuon owns 53,5% of the shares, Norsk Hydro 41,5% and the developer of the windfarm, Norsk Miljøkraft 5%. Havøygavlen will be the world's northernmost windfarm.
