Perhaps the most telling testimony of Nor-Shipping 2007’s success is this: 10 per cent of the total exhibition space for Nor-Shipping 2009 was sold and reserved during the four-day exhibition. Norway Trade Fairs is expanding its venue with a new hall, which will be used for the 22nd Nor-Shipping event from 9 to 12 June 2009.

Aside from the melodic elements, the lyrical content of a Nor song is worth paying attention to. Each song is its own short story, all involving relationships of one kind or another, ranging from political to romantic. In addition, the mood of the music coincides with lyrics pertaining to visions of the artist, often times writing about dreams that touch upon love, life and death.

Nor-Shipping had 13,745 professional visitors during the 4 day event. 828 exhibitors from 42 countries brought 6,685 representatives to Nor-Shipping 2007, adding the total number of official delegates to well over 20,000. Given the wide variety of social and professional arrangements happening in parallel throughout the Oslo region, the leading maritime event week’s numbers rise to probably more than 25,000. Nor-Cargo can trace it's roots in the UK to January 1948 when Norwegian Shipowner NFDS commenced a weekly sailing between Trondheim and Grimsby. The first vessel call was made by the 'Ottar Jarl' which discharged a cargo of wet and frozen fish. This was to become the start of a weekly scheduled service which subsequently handled - in addition to fish - dry cargoes both to and from Norway. From such beginnings Nor-Cargo has developed into a world class Freight Forwarder and Liner Agent.
