Nitric Acid: Hno3
built 656 days ago
Nitric acid in a laboratory. Nitric acid is miscible with water in all proportions and distillation gives an azeotrope with a concentration of 68% HNO3 and a boiling temperature of 120.5 °C at 1 atm. Two solid hydrates are known; the monohydrate (HNO3·H2O) and the trihydrate (HNO3·3H2O).
A colorless poisonous liquid, nitric acid is used in the manufacture of plastics, dyes, fertilizers, and explosives. It is ... used as a reagent in scientific laboratories. Nitric acid is a highly corrosive and strong acid that can cause severe burns. Its chemical formula is HNO3.
WFNA - White fuming nitric acid is based on anhydrous nitric acid (HNO3), a colourless corrosive liquid which fumes in moist air. They contain a maximum of 2 per cent water and 0.5 per cent nitrogen dioxide, and decompose to yield amounts of water, nitrogen dioxide, and oxygen which are in chemical equilibrium.
