Nikki was one of the many survivors of Flight 815 that were in the Fuselage section of the plane. In the immediate aftermath of the crash, she was was dazed and confused. As she attempted to find Paulo, she ran into Boone, who asked her for a pen and Dr. Arzt, whom she accidentally mistook for Paulo, and witnessed Gary Troup being sucked into one of the engines, causing it to explode. She did find Paulo, eventually, staring off into the ocean. However, when she asked him about the diamonds, she discovered he had no idea where they were. Six days later, they were still searching for the diamonds in the wreckage, when Ethan showed up, introduced himself, and offered to help.

Nikki is amongst the people who help Jin bring the ping-pong table out of the jungle. When Sawyer demands his belongings back she comments that the stuff in the stash was never his to start with. He responds that it is his now, and asking "who the hell are you?" She later watches the ping-pong match between Sawyer and Hurley, supporting Hurley who eventually wins.

Nikki and Arzt examine the collection of new species he has found on the island. He introduces her to the medusa spider who has very strong pheromones. Nikki asks for help finding her luggage, and Arzt draws her a map showing the possible trajectory of the debris that fell from the plan as it crashed. Nikki and Paulo then follow the map and Paulo seems somewhat jealous of Nikki asking Arzt for help (suggesting Ethan would have been more help). Nikki then jokes that she had to sleep with Arzt for the map. Following the map Nikki and Paulo find the Pearl station and the drug smuggler's plane but choose not to explore them.

Nikki found out about Paulo hiding the diamonds from her, and in anger released a Medusa spider on him that caused Paulo to be paralyzed for eight hours. Nikki ... gets bitten. After being put into paralysis by venomous spiders, both Nikki and Paulo were mistaken for being dead and buried alive by Hurley, Sawyer and Charlie. The effects of the venom were just beginning to wear off, and she was able to open her eyes just as some of the sand landed on her face. Since the Hurley and Sawyer did not see her eyes open they continued to fill the grave completely, killing both her and Paulo. (Exposé)

Born Nov. 6, 1992 at the local hospital in Uthaithani province, Thailand, Nikki was subsequently abandoned at the hospital by her parents. Sometime later, having tested HIV+, she was transferred to a government orphanage in Chiang Mai. During her stay at there, Nikki developed various infections and spent time in the hospital.
