Other than modeling, Niki Taylor has been seen on television as well, interviewing for several segments of the international syndicated show Lifestyles, covering for the NBC and guesthosting MTV’s Fashionably Loud. In 2001 she struggled with a series of health problem. She had to enter a rehabilitation program to treat an addiction to Vicodin, a prescription painkiller. The same year she was involved in a near-fatal car accident in Atlanta, Georgia which left her with a collapsed lung, severe liver damage and other internal injuries; in fact, she was unconscious for six months.

Taylor has appeared on over 400 magazine covers worldwide; her first was an issue of Seventeen. At age 17, she became the youngest model to appear on the cover of Vogue. Other covers include, six issues of Allure, ELLE, Self and Shape. In 1997, Taylor made her first appearance in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. She subsequently appeared in the 1998 and 1999 editions, as well as on the 1998 cover of the magazine's swimsuit calendar.

In 1992, Taylor became the first spokesmodel under 18 to sign a major contract with CoverGirl and she became a feature in their national advertising campaign. Some of her other ad campaigns have been for Liz Claiborne; Nokia; Ellen Tracy; L'Oréal; Lee Jeans; and Pantene. Taylor ... simultaneously had six enormous billboards in NYC's Times Square, in addition to three yearlong billboards for Liz Claiborne.

Taylor, who suffered trauma to her liver and abdomen but no head injuries or facial lacerations, remains in critical condition and under heavy sedation at Atlanta's Grady Memorial Hospital, says her agent, Lou Taylor (no relation). Taylor, 26, is currently a model for Cover Girl cosmetics and has twin 5 year old sons, Jake and Hunter, by ex- husband Matt Martinez.
