nick lachey Photo Nick Lachey never wanted to be famous. He wanted to be a football player. Problem was, his mother didn't approve of football and its inherent bone-snapping possibilities. So she kept him from playing until he was in ninth grade. Undeterred, Lachey organized neighborhood pickup games and worked on his sprints. Then, when he hit sixth grade, his younger brother Drew came home with the news that he had been accepted into a performing-arts school.
98 Degrees Nicholas Scott Lachey was born on the border of Kentucky and Virginia in Harlan, Kentucky to Cate Fopma-Leimbach and John Lachey. He has a brother Drew, a step sister, Josie, a half brother, Issac, and two adopted siblings, Zac and Kaitlin. Growing up in Ohio, he attended Cincinnati's well-regarded public School for Creative and Performing Arts, developing his vocal talent and aspiring to become an entertainer. After graduation, he began studying at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, majoring in sports medicine. He ... became a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. While there, he received a phone call from long time friend, Jonathan Lippmann, who recently met Jeff Timmons.
Nick Lachey is one third owner of the Tacoma Rainiers. The Rainiers are the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners playing in the Pacific Coast League. Lachey previously was interested in the ownership of his hometown’s team, The Cincinnati Reds, but the deal didn’t happen.

On November 9, 1973, Nicholas Scott Lachey was born in Harlan, Kentucky, the border of Kentucky and Tennessee, to parents Cate Fopma-Leimbach and John Lachey. He is the older brother of Drew Lachey, (born on August 8, 1976), who is ... a member of the band 98 Degrees. Nick, nicknamed “Slider” or “Hollywood,” also has one stepsister called Josie and one half-brother named Isaac, as well as four adopted siblings: Zac, Kaitlin, Timothy, and Sally. Nick later followed his family when they uprooted to Cincinnati, Ohio.
Nick Lachey arrived on the music scene in 1997 as a part of the group 98 Degrees. An Ohio native and graduate of the Cincinnati School for the Creative and Performing Arts, Nick has always had a simple philosophy about success: work hard, have faith and eventually you'll reach your goal.
Music superstar Lachey tapped Zegree to rehearse his hometown choir for performances in "Clash of the Choirs Holiday Challenge," which aired live on NBC from New York City Dec.17-20. The show featured music genres ranging from current pop hits to holiday classics. Viewers voted to eliminate one of the five choirs in the competition each of the four nights. Lachey's choir prevailed, bringing home $250,000 from General Electric for Cincinnati-area charities.
