When the new Niagara Tunnel project is completed, it will enable the Beck Power Group to produce an additional 1.6 terawatt-hours of electricity for at least the next ninety (90) years. It will allow enough energy production to serve an additional 160,000 homes and increase power output at Sir Adam Beck by 14%. - enough to meet the annual needs of a city of 700,000 persons.

The company's products include custom-cut, stress-relieved, and quench and tempered bars, as well as hexagonal, flat, square, and round bars. Applications include cylinders, shafting mechanisms, and parts for appliances, automobiles, engines, and screw machines. Chairman and CEO Michael Scharf and his brother Gilbert were major shareholders in Niagara until buy-out firm Kohlberg & Company acquired the company in mid-2006, taking the company private.

Niagara County was formed from Genesee in 1808. (Genesee was formed from Ontario County in 1802. Ontario was formed from Montgomery in 1789. Montgomery was formed from Albany County in 1772, but was known as Tryon County [warning: Tryon page crashes some browsers] until 1784. Albany County was one of the original counties of New York State.)
