With a record of 51 and 30, the New York Yankees are sporting the best record in Major League Baseball as of July 7, 2004. With the talent and heart this team has this year, not only do they have a chance at returning to the World Series, but ... taking the title. The talent is endless on this team, as six Yankees are expected to join manager Joe Torre at the 2004 All-Star Game in Houston. These six Yankees include Alex Rodriguez, Gary Sheffield, Jason Giambi, Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera and Tom Gordon. Gary Sheffield has set a new major league record as he was chosen to the All-Star Game for the eighth time in his career and will represent his fifth different team. Though Sheffield's left shoulder has been causing him moderate discomfort when he reaches down or swings upwards, he plans on carrying out his MLB record by representing the American League at the All-Star Game until George Steinbrenner tells him differently.
A third round draft pick way back in 2001, Chase Wright has taken his sweet time to develop into the pitcher the New York Yankees were looking for when they selected the lefty out of a Texas High School. Fast forward five years, and Wright has turned himself into a sleeper in the surprisingly strong Yankees farm system. Still just 23, Wright, healthy for the first time in his career, posted back to back solid seasons in 2005 and 2006. He went 10-4 with 3.75 ERA in 24 starts for Low-A Charleston in 2005. This past season at High-A Tampa, Wright dominated Florida State League hitters in route to a 12-3 record with a 1.88 ERA and 100 strikeouts in 119.2 innings of work. He gave up just one home run and held opposing batters to a .218 average on the season.
The New York Yankees played their first game on April 18, 1923 against Boston Red Sox. In that season the stadium held 33 World Series and Yankees won their first World Championship against the Giants. The stadium is ... know as "The Home Of Champions". The Yankees stadium is a multi utility stadium. It has hosted other sports, cultural events, college football, soccer, political gatherings, religious convocations, concerts and even circus shows.
As amazing as it sounds, the New York Yankees haven’t won a World Series title in almost a decade, but that hasn’t stopped the incredible demand for Yankees baseball tickets. Even if you are not a fan of the Bronx Bombers, you have to admit they are the most fascinating team in the Majors. No team is more loved and more hated at the same time, and no team has as much history and tradition. With 26 World Series titles, the Yankees are the most successful franchise in the history of American sports, and this might finally be the year that they notch number 27. You can be there to see it happen with New York Yankees tickets from GoTickets.com.

Anthony DiComo, of Yankees.MLB.com, reports the New York Yankees have given SP Andy Pettitte permission to report to spring training Monday, Feb. 18, instead of Thursday, Feb. 14. Pettitte called general manager Brian Cashman to ask for the extension, and he ... talked to manager Joe Girardi about the subject.
