KFFL - For the Hottest NFL, MLB & Fantasy News Mark Weiner, of the Syracuse Post-Standard, reports that the New York Mets are considering moving their Triple-A farm team from New Orleans to Syracuse, in time for the 2009 season. U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, who is actively lobbying for the move, met with owner Fred Wilpon to discuss this matter, agreeing that it would increase the Mets' fan base in the state of New York. According to Schumer, Wilpon likes the idea of having the club's top two minor league teams within 75 miles of each other, and a short plane, train or car ride from the big league club. The Syracuse Chiefs have served as the Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays since 1978, and may sever their ties with the franchise after their agreement expires at the end of the 2008 season.

New York Mets formed in 1957. Attorney William Shea announced the formation of the national baseball team with the name Metropolitan Baseball Club of New Yorksimply Mets. The success of the Mets was started with its failure in the starting years 1961 and 1962. The first achievement of the Mets was in the year 1964. In the first season, they won the match which took its place in the history of the first National league. Since 1880, and the most memorable winning in the history of the Mets was counted that day.
The New York Mets went from doormats to darlings in less than a decade, in the process challenging the Yankees for city prominence by 1969. In 1962 the National League responded to the AL's 1961 expansion by placing teams in Houston and New York, returning NL baseball to Gotham City after the Giants and Dodgers defected in 1958. Realizing they would need something special to compete with the Yankees, the Mets hired Casey Stengel to manage their new team. Though the product on the field proved fruitless, Stengel kept the media and fans happy with his stories and shtick.
The Beginning - The New York Mets were introduced into the National League in 1962 as part of a two team expansion with the Houston Colt 45s. The 1962 are generally regarded, in both spirit and on paper, as the worst team of all time, with the possible exception of the 1930 Phillies.
