In Game 6 of the 1986 World Series the New York Mets trailed the Boston Red Sox by two runs as they went to bat in the bottom of the 10th. The Red Sox recorded two consecutive outs, one out away from winning their first World Series since 1918. Gary Carter started a two out rally for the Mets, ending with a ball trickling through the legs of Red Sox first baseman Bill Buckner and the winning run crossing the plate for the Mets. After staging one of the most memorable comebacks in baseball history, the Mets went on to win the World Series in Game 7.

How must it feel to be the New York Mets. Here they are competing in the NLCS while the bulk of the New York sports press has bee speculating on whether or not Joe Torre, manager of the Yankees, would be fired (apparently the answer is now - no). Maybe if the Mets manage to advance past the NLCS and win the World Series; the first place they should take their trophy would be the Bronx.
