[J]ust a quick update on this card -- it could be much better. Compared to the Novatel EX720, it's significantly larger. The external antenna connector (SMA) is useful, but how many people need it.

[Y]ou need to have a cell signal in order to be able to connect with an air card. The biggest misconception that people have is just because you do not have a signal on your cell phone does not mean that you won't have a signal with your air card.

You could try loading that module but if you google you will find several threads on various linux forums where people have problems with this card. Intel and 3com nics are usually easy to setup :)
