The Ethernet card for a laptop is about the size of a credit card, but thicker. It fits into the "PCMCIA" slot (... called a PC Card slot) on the side of the machine. Another adapter is often supplied with the card, and connects the twisted pair network cable into the side of the card.

If your device manufacturer does not have a software update to enable WPA mode then you may be able to buy a new wireless card. For laptops, wireless PC cards are available for $20 to $40.
